FDA Seizes Juul Vape Marketing Documents, Warns it Could Ban Vape Device
October 2nd, 2018: Juul Labs, the manufacturer of the popular Juul vape, had their offices raided by the U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in a surprise inspection. The FDA seized thousands of pages of documents related to marketing of Juul products. Juul Labs faces accusations and lawsuits that they illegally marketed their products to minors.

Baby Powder Verdict News: $4 Billion in Damages for 22 Plaintiffs in Talcum Powder Trial
A jury in St. Louis found Johnson & Johnson responsible for the ovarian cancer of 22 women after a Missouri state court trial. The month long trial in St. Louis Circuit Court resulted in a $25 million per plaintiff award for damages, and an additional $4.15 billion in punitive damages against Johnson and Johnson.

A California bill introduced by Assembly Member Quirk in 2016 to promote electric cars, AB-33, has been modified to create and sell new bonds. The proceeds of the bonds would go toward covering Pacific Gas & Electric’s legal liability after being found responsible for starting the October 2017 Northern California wildfires. Wildfire lawsuit settlements could add up to billions of dollars.

Stryker Hip Recall – Stryker Adds to LFIT V40 Head Recall List
On May 29th, 2018 the Australia government made public a new Class II recall of LFIT Anatomic CoCr V40 Femoral heads by Stryker. This follows a letter by Stryker in March 2018 to U.S. doctors notifying them the devices are failing more often than expected. This is a new list of components after a previous 2016 US recall for Stryker LFIT V40 femoral heads. All products listed are recalled if manufactured between 2002 and March 4, 2011.
