A resident of Illinois died after being hospitalized for vape lung damage. State investigators declined to name the victim, but the death follows hundreds of vaping-related hospitalizations for pneumonia-like systems and respiratory failure.

Levin Simes brought these initial lawsuits on behalf of seven female riders who had been sexually harassed, assaulted, or raped by poorly vetted Lyft drivers.

Levin Simes represents women injured, assaulted, or harassed by Lyft and Uber drivers during rideshare trips.

Lyft and Uber have both faced dozens of lawsuits and had hundreds of drivers arrested after sexual assault. A prior CNN investigation found 100s of drivers accused of sexual assault and sexual harassment, and found that Uber and Lyft had hired thousands of felony convicts to drive, including in one case a convicted murderer. Uber and Lyft claim they are working to improve background checks.

The Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin drafted a press release after treating eight different teens in a single month for vaping lung injuries.

Lyft listed all their San Francisco e-bikes as “unavailable to riders” today after two battery fires within a week in San Francisco. The Lyft bikes appear to have a core of 18650 or similar high powered li-on batteries catch fire on the bicycles, near where riders would place their body. 18650 and other li-on batteries can explode if not protected or packed safely, and now multiple bikes are catching fire with no known immediate cause.
