Lyft Sexual Assault Lawsuit

Vice News has published a new article “Lyft has been flooded with sexual assault lawsuits“, listing the new cases Levin Simes attorneys have filed on behalf of rideshare sexual assault survivors. Levin Simes represents women injured, assaulted, or harassed by Lyft and Uber drivers during rideshare trips.

As noted in the Vice article, on August 1st Levin Simes filed seven lawsuits including four cases of rape against Lyft and their drivers:

“It’s important to note that a large number of our clients [are survivors] of a physical sexual assault of some kind, not just harassment,” Meghan McCormick, an attorney on the case told Motherboard.

Given the public scrutiny of Uber for their multiple misbehaviors made public, Lyft has operated and nursed an image that they are the kinder and gentler rideshare company.  Lyft has frequently waited for Uber to roll out a new user interface for reporting, or waiting until Uber agreed to end mandatory arbitration before following with a similar action.
