DePuy Pinnacle Trial for 8 Plaintiffs begins September 5th

On August 25th, 2017 Judge Ed Kinkeade of the District Court for the Northern District of Texas, Dallas Division, ordered the jury trial of eight plaintiffs to begin on September 5th, 2017.

The cases selected for the latest bellwether trial are as follows:

• Barzel, et al.,l v. DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc., et al., No. 3:16-cv-01245-K
• Buonaiuto, et al., v. DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc., et al., No. 3:14-cv-02750-K
• Miura v. DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc., et al., No. 3:13-cv-04119-K
• Stevens et al., v. DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc., et al., No. 3:14-cv-02341-K
• Stevens et al., v. DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc. et al., No. 3:14-cv-01776-K
• Heroth et al., v. DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc. et al., No. 3:12-cv-04647-K
• Kirschner v. DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc., et al., No. 3:16-cv-01526-K

This trial will be the first bellwether trial since DePuy was hit with a $1.04 Billion verdict back in December 2016, when DePuy was found liable for both damages and punitive damages against 6 plaintiffs.

Prior verdicts:

• $1.04 Billion on behalf of six plaintiffs in Texas
• $498 Million on behalf of five patients in Texas
