Marcia Rey, Paralegal Manager for the Levin Simes LLP Asbestos team since 2014, was promoted to Human Resources Director for the firm in 2015.
With over 25 years of law firm experience, Ms. Rey is responsible for managing all aspects of human resources, including recruitment, training, implementation of guidelines and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and firm policies, and performance reviews. Ms. Rey has significant knowledge and experience as a senior-level paralegal and is also responsible for oversight and management of the Asbestos case teams. She received her BA from the College of Charleston, and her paralegal certificate, magna cum laude, from Trident Technical College.
Ms. Rey has worked in plaintiff’s asbestos & pharmaceutical litigation for the past 11 years, before which she worked for defense firms in a variety of litigations as lead trial paralegal for cases involving intellectual property, contract litigation, personal injury, and medical malpractice. She has also assisted with trial and appellate work in environmental actions, serving as lead trial paralegal for a large environmental CERCLA case involving potentially responsible parties for a major Superfund site, as well as litigation involving contract claims filed against a M&O contractor for the Department of Energy’s Savannah River Site. Ms. Rey has been a CLE instructor for several paralegal associations as well as an instructor for the Institute for Paralegal Education.
